Creative Activist. Musician. Composer. Educator.
Music | Orlando, Florida Area, US
I’m fortunate that my experience is a kaleidoscope of marketing, music, and education. Earning a degree in Advertising and Public Relations certainly prepared me to be an inspired creative, musician and educator. My background included strict deadlines, solving problems, writing creative strategies, negotiating contracts, and assembling teams in the industry of show productions. I had the pleasure of working with extremely talented filmmakers, producers, account executives, copywriters, and designers, where no one ever settled for mediocrity.
As a classically trained pianist and composer, it’s also part of my nature to pursue creative passion, which is why I elected to put my career-life on hold to earn a degree in Music and piano performance from Rollins College. Today, as the Associate Course Director of Music Theory at Full Sail, I now get to teach students how to get gritty and persevere through challenges. I get to teach students how to write, and feverishly re-write again until they are proud of the work they’re submitting. I help students learn how to value themselves, value their work, and manage their time. My students learn that their intentions (whether conscious or subconscious) have a cause and effect relationship on their success.
In the end, we all have to believe in ourselves, believe in the work we are committed to doing, and believe in each other.
